To Fight le Stress

Irritation, insomnia, anxiety, irritability, are some of symptoms generated by stress. Let's try to know the stress better so we can control it.

Stress generates a response of our body to psychological factors of aggression. These factors require from us an adaptation in order to find a certain balance and wellness.

Our way of life generates  very often a stress which isn't inevitably harmful. We'll try to explain this.

Stress is prejudicial for health if it's disproportionate and inhibits us, if we feel it like painful, crushing, if there is accumulation with work (over activity, professional and personal worries ... ).

Our body then will store this permanent tension until saturation and if there is no more reserve, we have a nervous breakdown and we crack up ...

On the other hand, stress can be good for health because it allows pleasant emotions and allows us to react against external aggressions. For example if there is a physical danger, the body will engage a cascade of reactions in order to react and to avoid this danger (reflexes). A show, an important meeting, an examination, will generate a certain vigilance, an attention, an awakening of our senses.

In front of an identical situation, we react all in a different ways. A simple misunderstanding can thus generate antagonistic situations or an inappropriate answer. Also, it' s necessary to learn how to control our emotions and to modify our behavior.

All these psychological phenomena are generated and controlled by the neuro vegetative system (system sympathetic and parasympathetic). This system makes it possible to reduce our emotions and our reactions : insomnia, anguishes, fear, pain in stomach, feeling of oppression, and so on ...

In order to relieve this accumulation of tension, it's necessary to decrease our workload and our cerebral activity when certain signs appear. Better is worth "to slow down" punctually than to crack up because there is saturation.

Don't forget that excess of mental activity may causes a tiredness, a loss of effectiveness; our ideas don't set up, our work becomes not very effective and worse in quality ...

Less request the body to avoid the bad stress, it's to stand back, to relativize; take time to eat and digest, take some rest or holidays.

When we can't really relieve accumulation of these tensions by evoked methods, we can try different forms of relaxation. Various methods exist, sometimes known as psycho-body. They make it possible to support concentration, to control hyper emotionalism, to learn how to recover physical and nervous tiredness, to relax oneself.

We can avoid or limit accumulation of factors right to the bad stress, but we can't stop easily a medical processing based on anxiolitic drugs. Those create a certain dependence in long-term for drugs.

At all events, stress is a part of our everyday life as well as our satisfactions, our pleasures, our joys. It is necessary to learn how to use the stress and to control it, to make an asset of it.
