General Practitioner

Before  start a physical activity, it's advisable to consult a general practitioner, either the family doctor (because he or she knows our case history) or choose a specialist doctor of sports.

Indeed, this doctor will be able to detect a pathology or maybe to recommend a specialist (cardiologist, ...).

As in any activity, sport could induce also traumatisms. There are also contraindications that only a doctor will be able to detect.

When we pay for a membership for an Health Club, the club should require a medical certificate every year. But in fact, clubs deny their responsibility with contractual clauses. Medical examination is the occasion to make a check up of our health.

This can give us a progress report on your physiological data too :

- Biometrics : height, weight, % of fat mass

- Heart rate at rest, with effort (to make a test of effort by a cardiologist, if necessary)

- Nutrition (unbalanced or not).

Benefit for your case : psychic effects, reduction in the risk of osteoporosis, infarction...

Risks in injuries or "overuse injuries" or "microtrauma".

Particular constraints of each one (woman, child, man, disabled people, elderly persons ...).

See our page precautions.
